After Hrithik Roshan backing out of Karan Johar’s ambitious project Shuddhi many actors was considered for the role but Karan kept the suspense high by not announcing any replacement for this film to be directed by Karan ‘Agneepath’ Malhotra.
For some time now, there has been buzz that Karan had approached his new buddy Salman Khan to be part of the project, but nothing was confirmed.
Finally, Salman spilled the beans at an event for his latest release Kick. Rattling off the names of the projects in his kitty, Salman said, “I am doing a film with Mahesh Manjrekar, Boney Kapoor’s No Entry sequel, Shuddhi with Karan Johar, one with Aditya Chopra and one with Kabir Khan.”
Realising he had let the cat out of the bag, Salman quipped with a broad smile, “Did I say something wrong? Well, I don’t know which movie of Karan Johar I am doing.”
While Kareena Kapoor was the original heroine of Shuddhi, there is no confirmation whether she will still feature in the film though news is that has been pencilled in as Salman’s heroine for his forthcoming film with Kabir Khan. When we asked about Kareena’s presence in Shuddhi, Salman claimed ignorance and said he had no information about the film’s female lead.
