“In Race 2, I was 51 kilos and today I am five kilos heavier.”
A year ago, when Jacqueline Fernandez had started shooting for Kick, there was a strong buzz around her putting on weight for the film. Apparently, both Salman Khan and producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala felt that she had to bring on some changes in her physicality so that she comes across as a quintessential Bollywood leading lady on screen.
Circa 2014 and the Sri Lankan beauty is in no mood to let go off those kilos, even though she is through with the film’s shoot and is now gearing up to shoot for Roy.
Jackie, as Jacqueline is fondly called, affirms, “When my last film Race 2 released, I was 51 kilos and today I am five kilos heavier at 56 kilos. Frankly, I am most happy this way; I think that has worked for me. Also, I realise that this is a more healthy way of living as well.”
Since the release of her debut film, Alladin, Jackie has donned a glamorous persona with an element of sensuality around her for all her films. She elaborates, “The typical sensual girl reached its crescendo with Race 2 as it was all about glamour. Yes, that worked with the audience but in Kick, Sajid wanted me to play a simple, regular girl from Delhi. She needed to have a different physicality and now after a year, the look has stuck by my side,” laughs Jackie.
There is no new regimen that Jackie is following. She claims, “Funny, but I have not changed my diet plan at all,.” I am exercising a little and taking care of my carbs; that’s all. I have basically balanced it all out. I am being normal, eating and frankly, I love it.”
