Shuddhi on hold, Karan Johar to start Warrior instead

Though Karan Johar’s ambitious venture Shuddhi has been put on hold, the producer-director gets the ball rolling for his new project, tentatively titled Warrior, to be helmed by Shuddhi director Karan Malhotra. The movie is likely to feature Akshay Kumar and Karan Malhotra.

Warrior is apparently a remake of the 2011 Hollywood boxing drama. It’s about the youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer, who returns home, where he’s trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament. The path to win the tournament puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother.

A khabroo from Dharma Productions spotted Warrior story line and details on the board in the conference room and believes work on the movie has been going on in full swing. According to our khabroo, the team at Dharma Productions has been relentlessly working on the pre production of Warrior and the film is likely to go on floors soon.
