Yes, you read it right! In a recent development, Bollywood’s most respected production house, Yash Raj Films and stand up comedian Kapil Sharma have decided to part ways mutually. The latest we hear is that Y Films’ Bank Chor will now go on floors without Kapil who was supposed to make his film debut with the YRF film.
Beginning this year, there were reports about Kapil Sharma making his Bollywood debut with YRF and had signed a three-film deal with the production house. It was reported that YRF will also handle his talent account, just like they have done for some other stars whom they have taken under their wings. Not to forget there were reports about Kapil finding it difficult to manage time for his popular comedy show, Comedy Nights With Kapil and YRF film. Now, the latest we hear is that Kapil and people at YRF have decided to part ways for reasons best known to them.
Ashish Patil, Business and Creative Head, Youth Films, Talent Management & Brand Partnerships at Yash Raj Films, speaking on this development said, “We will look forward to working together in future when the time is right.” Kapil remained unavailable for comment.
Bank-Chor is a comic-caper that tells the story of three morons trying to rob a bank. They pick the worst day possible when everything goes wrong and how they’re inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt politicians.
