Abhay Deol, Manjot Singh team up for SNAFU

In a casting coup, debutant director Sethu Sriram has managed to bring Abhay Deol and Manjot Singh together after their successful venture, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye (2008).

While its been speculated that Abhay will feature in the first Indo-China co production Gold struck alongside Amitabh Bachchan, its now confirmed that the star has signed a thriller in which he plays a protagonist. The film will go on floors early next month.

The film has an interesting title SNAFU. It’s the term that has originated in the army, meaning Situations Normal All F****ed Up. Manjot was last seen in Fukrey and What The Fish starring Dimple Kapadia.

After Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, SNAFU will see Manjot and Abhay together as parallel leads. Abhay plays Kabir Taneja, a successful corporate consultant in Mumbai mediating mega deals with most men and Manjot essays the character of Sunny Singh, a submissive slum dweller.

Sriram, who has worked on movies like Wanted, Shakti, Tere Naam, Milenge Milenge among others as a Director of Photography, informs, “Both the male characters are absolute contrasts of each other. Abhay and Manjot have distinct style of their own and it will be great to see them together.”
