Going by the weekend collections of Rs 33 crores approximately, the Saif Ali Khan-Riteish Deshmukh-Ram Kapoor starrer is doing well at the box office.
Sajid Khan can finally heave a sigh of relief, as his latest multi-starrer comedy, Humshakals has been minting good money at the box office. Sajid’s last movie, Himmatwala featuring Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah was a box office disaster. Considering that, there weren’t really high expectations from the filmmaker who has been known for making tall claims before his films release.
The pre-release buzz, immense hype and coming together of Saif, Riteish and Ram for the first time in triple roles and the movie being a solo release and the large number of prints, Humshakals has gained the kind of numbers that was predicted.
Humshakals box office report opened to Rs 9.5 crores on day one and witnessed a downfall on Saturday with Rs 8 crore and again it jumped to approximately Rs 12.50 to 13 crore on Sunday which makes the weekend collection of Rs 33 crore approximately.
“The box office graph of Humshakals and Himmatwala are almost similar. As compared to Himmatwala, the appreciation from audience has been quite positive for Humshakals and that has resulted into good numbers for the comedy flick at the multiplexes. Now, it all depends on the single screen numbers, as Sajid Khan’s films are usually meant for single screen audience,” says distributor-exhibitor Akshaye Rathi.
Sajid is quite ecstatic with his film’s response at the box office. “Audience is enjoying and they are the final critics,” says Sajid adding, “I’m expecting blessings and smiling audiences walking out of the shows.”
