One of the busiest casting directors of the Hindi film industry Mukesh Chhabra is booked for the next one year and has an impressive line up of films releasing this year including Rajkumar Hirani’s PK, Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet and Ugly, and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider. The 32 year old Chhabra who has taken a big step by launching a casting studio which aims to offer acting and casting under one roof is really excited as this has been his dream project for long.
“It was my dream to have a casting studio which is accessible to all, where talented actors could just walk in and give auditions” said Chhabra who is known to have introduced many new talents in Hindi films. Chhabra always felt the need for such a studio where post suditions an actor could do some workshops to hone his/her acting skills for which he has planned such a setup.
“Acting is not about acting. Acting is about being, and that is what will be the focus of my workshop. I am not an easy teacher and my expectations are pretty high” said actor Manoj Bajpai who was cast by Chhabra in Gangs of Wasseypur and will also be conducting the first weekend of acting workshop.
Anurag kashyap, Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Abhishek Kapoor, Nikhil Advani, Mohit Suri, National award winner Rajkumar Rao, Sushant Singh Rajput, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Shraddha kappor and Aditi Rao Hydari were some names who came to support Mukesh Chhabfa while he launched his casting studio. All these big names were all praises for Chhabra on being a true professional towards his work and how he makes an actor comfortable while auditioning. The ace directors and actors couldn’t stop talking about the positivity and warmth he brings along.
