One actor in Bollywood who doesn’t mind, in fact prefers, romancing newcomers is Salman Khan. Right from the start he never had any qualms of working with newbies. No wonder he was tagged as the ‘Godfather’ of the industry.
We wonder how true is this? Actresses do get a break, a big fat one, through Salman and in his films but what after that? Most of them end up as’one hit wonder’ and then they either disappear due to lack of good offers.
Remember that time when pigeons became everybody’s favorite, I mean to send love letters and all? Yea, Maine Pyaar Kiya. The most adorable pair of that time Salman and Bhagyashree still remain the best till date. But whatever happened to the beautiful Bhagyashree, she never returned to big screen again.
Also, actresses like Nagma and Bhumika Chawla who were paired opposite the actor in Baaghi and Tere Naam respectively have never been seen much in Bollywood again. Both these actresses decided to move down South to make a living instead.
When the film Lucky: No Time For Love released, such a buzz was created about Salman’s choice of heroine. Sneha Ullal, a newbie was cast opposite him and everybody knew why. She bore a resemblance to Sallu’s former love Aishwarya Rai. However, her career seemed to have been jinxed and after that film Bollywood never accepted her. She moved to the south to do films, still not successful there!
It was Zarine Khan’s turn next to go through bad luck. She was paired opposite him in veer and then she began losing her ground in Bollywood. She barely found any films and now she is missing in action.
Latest (we hope last) is Daisy Shah, Salman’s Jai Ho lady. The newest Bollywood entrant doesn’t even have big and better films in her kitty. Too bad, she isn’t even remembered for her performance in Jai Ho.
We wonder why this has happened to these actresses. Somehow their careers are bombing and they seem to have no other option but to go elsewhere for fame and moolah.
