Professionally, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor may be pitted against each other but personally, they continue to share a good camaraderie. Further evidence of that is demonstrated by the fact that a couple of years ago – during the making of Lootera (2013) – Ranveer had told Sonakshi that she would make a good pairing with his Gunday co-star Arjun.
Sure enough, Sonakshi is now shooting with Arjun for his father Boney Kapoor’s forthcoming production, Tevar. And Ranveer’s prediction for Sonakshi has come true.
Sonakshi gloats, “Arjun and I have shot for around 50 percent of Tevar and if the feedback so far is anything to go by, the two of us look good together and make for a fresh pair. Our chemistry in Tevar is very endearing.”
And Ranveer is taking pride in his prediction. Sonakshi smiles: “Now whenever I meet Ranveer and the conversation veers to the film, he gives me that look ‘See, I told you’.”
Though Sonakshi hasn’t seen Arjun’s Gunday so far, she has managed to sneak out for a while and catch his performance in 2 States, which has also brought him into the 100 crore club after Ranveer’s Ram Leela.
“I think Arjun is a very good actor and there is a degree of thairaav in him that sets him apart,” says Sonakshi. “He doesn’t rush through his lines and is very subtle. I really like the way he performs.”
