After the stupendous success of Murder 1 and Murder 2 and Raaz 2 and 3, the Bhatts have gone on record to state that when it comes to these popular franchises, they would have not been possible without Emraan Hashmi also known as Hitman Hashmi, given his popularity at the domestic box office.
Sources claim that while the production house did try to recreate that success with Randeep Hooda it didn’t work for them, post which there was several speculation over others like Sidharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor being roped in for projects within the Murder and Raaz franchise.
However putting all speculation to rest, Mahesh Bhatt says, “Going by the numbers it is impossible for us to separate the Murder and Raaz franchise from Emraan Hashmi since he is an integral and inseparable part of the brand.
We have burnt our fingers thoroughly with Murder 3, a venture Emraan did not spearhead and we do not plan to repeat that. Whoever is spreading these rumors have vested interests and is way out of line. Hope this puts the malice to rest – We will not make Murder or Raaz without Emraan Hashmi.”
