Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra have been seeing each other for the longest time now, but the two have never talked about their relationship openly. While many speculated that the couple were already married, a few predicted that Rani and Adi would tie the knot on Valentines day, next year. In midst of all the buzz, the Bengali Tigress and her filmmaker beau finally got hitched in a secret ceremony in Italy.
And while all this seems like a fairytale, the couple did not really have it all go smooth. Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra’s love story seems straight out of a Bollywood movie. There were many obstacles before they said ‘I Do’.
Not many know that Aditya Chopra was already married to his childhood sweetheart Payal Khanna when Rani Mukerji came into his life. The couple parted ways in 2009 and late Yash Chopra considered Rani the sole reason for his son’s divorce. Later, it was very difficult for Rani to convince Adi’s parents, but finally they did come to terms and accepted Rani and Adi’s relationship.
Why we say their love story seems straight out of a Bollywood flick is because, Aditya Chopra expressed his love for Rani in YRF film’s title song ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. Cute na?
Apparently, all was set until Yash Chopra passed away in 2012, hence a delay in their wedding.
If you thought Ranbir and Katrina started the holiday get away trend, your wrong. It was Rani and Adi who escaped to Switzerland last year. While on their return, the lovebirds halted in London for some shopping. Little did they know that the cashier at the counter was a die-hard Rani fan, who then gave the Indian Paparazzi the couple’s whereabouts.
The almost believable buzz is that prior to marriage, Rani and Adi were in a live-in relationship for almost 2 years. The lovebirds were residing in Rani’s Juhu love next.
Now, it is heard that Rani and Adi on their return to India, will head straight to Shirdi and seek blessings of Sai Baba. Also, we hear that apart from immediate family the only other person who knew about the shaadi was Shahrukh Khan, who is quite close to the newly wed.
