Harman Baweja, who will be seen making his much-awaited comeback with ‘Dishkiyaoon’ is leaving no stone un-turned to ensure that there is nothing left to promote his movie. Quiet and brooding, Baweja sat on the dais with actress-producer Shilpa Shetty and director Sanamjit Singh Talwar at the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Dishkiyaoon’.
Baweja, who plays the character Viki Kartoos in the film, says that he had to do a lot of research to play the role of a gangster. “Viki does not speak like a typical Mumbai gangster like, aarela hai, jarela hai, kharcha-pani, etc. He is a well-educated, well-heeled and intelligent person,” explained Baweja. “That is why, I did not speak to any gangsters and criminals for my research,” he joked.
Ask him about why he took so long to make a come-back to the big screen, Baweja said thoughtfully, “My first few movies…well, they did not do very well at the box office. And when that happens, it takes a toll on you. I was going through a phase of introspection, I really wanted to take a long, hard look at my work. I had decided that I will take up roles that presented a real challenge. When Sanamjit narrated the script, I felt that it was going to be a huge challenge, and that is why I decided to go for it.“
