Sanjay Dutt’s three month parole ends today; will return to Pune Jail!

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who was arrested for carrying illegal weapons during the 1993 blasts has been out on a parole for the past three months, today his third parole ended. The actor has been out on parole since December 21, 2013. Dutt was to return to Pune’s Yerawada Central Jail on January 21, but was granted an extension for a month which was to end on February 21. The actor again sought an extension later for another month to take care of his ailing wife Manyata, who was recovering post surgery. Dutt’s wife has reportedly been diagnosed with a tumour in the liver and a suspected heart ailment.

Sanjay Dutt is serving the remainder of his five-year jail term at Yerwada Central Jail Pune. He was convicted by the Supreme Court for illegal possession of arms in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. Sanju Baba had earlier served 18 months of jail term and surrendered himself before a Mumbai court on May 18, 2013 to serve the remaining period of his imprisonment.
