Rani Mukerji an actress who touches everyone’s heart. Her successful Bollywood has been painted with many hits and a few lows. She is one of the most high-profile celebrities in India. Black is film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starred Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. Black revolves around a blind and deaf girl, and her relationship with her teacher who himself later develops Alzheimer’s disease. The film draws inspiration from Helen Keller’s life and struggle in real life. Rani Mukherjee convincing fits into the character and leaves us spell bound with her stunning performance. She gives us gitters and leaves us teary eyed by the end of the film. She bagged a dozen of awards for this film but we still think she wasn’t appreciated enough.
laaga chunari mein daag
The meaning of the title is “My Veil is Stained”. How apt. The film revolves around a family that lives happily though they come from a modest background. Rani Mukherjee goes to a city to find a job in order to uplift the families financial condition. As things go from bad to worse and after encountering many obstacles and feeling desperate and out of options, she is forced to become the exclusive call girl “Natasha”. Her journey henceforth and how she finds love, loses it and supports her family is depicted in this film. Though this film didn’t do well at the box office, Rani was appreciated for her strong screen prpesence. Carrying off this role required some guts and Rani had more than just guts.
When Rani is just herself, it is a delight to watch her on screen. The film Hum Tum is a romantic comedy also starring Saif Ali Khan. This duo shared magical chemistry. They were efforlessly entertaining through out the movie. Saif Ali Khan is the ususal charmer and Rani is this traditional yet modern girl. Their animated story was a delight and we think this was one of her best movies by far. Light and warm!
no one killed jessica
Sexy, smart and shrewd. That was how rani’s character as a journalist was cut in the film No One Killed Jessica. No One Killed Jessica is based on the true story of Jessica Lall, a Delhi-based model and restaurant worker who was shot in 1999 at a New Delhi restaurant by Siddharth Vashisht, alias Manu Sharma, who is the son of a wealthy, influential and intimidating Haryana politician, Venod Sharma, a close aide of the Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Jessica, along with actor and model Vikram Jai Singh, were closing a restaurant’s bar for the evening when approached by Manu and two friends. Infuriated by Jessica’s refusal to serve them drinks after the bar closed, Manu fatally shoots Jessica. Manu’s family’s threatened and bribed nearly all the witnesses to the crime. The uneven battle and the odds faced by the family is what is depicted in this film in a gripping manner. Both the leads, Rani Mukherji and Vidya Balan gained a lot of praise for their impeccable performances.
bunty aur babli
Comedy, drama, action, masala, item song, dance, music, tears and Amitabh Bachchan, this film had everything that goes into the making of a super hit film. This couple were apparently going around off screen and that chemistry reflected on screen. Both Abhisheik Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee come to Mumbai to make it big respectively but fail. SO they team up and con people and make lots of money. How they con and how they are chased by cop Amitabh Bachchan is what makes this film a total entertainer.
