Why was Saif Ali Khan asked to cut his endorsement fee by 60 percent?

Saif Ali Khan, who usually pockets around Rs 4.5 crores per endorsement has cut down his fees to a shocking Rs 1.5 crore for a deodorant brand. That sure is a huge pay-cut! Saif, who unlike his wifey Kareena Kapoor Khan, has quit a few films on his platter and didn’t really need to cut down on his fees. But, the Nawab has cut down his fee and we were very eager to know why? We hear recently Khan lost out on several ad deals and therefore decided to charge less than what he does otherwise. While talking to a tabloid, a source said, “The brand is relatively new in India. They were looking out for a known face as it is important for them to create a buzz. So they approached some Bollywood actors and Saif was one of them. After a couple meetings with him, they have now decided to take him on board. He too has given them a nod.

Since the brand has just entered the market, Saif was asked to slash his fee and he did it without thinking twice. “Saif usually charges Rs 4.5 crore but since he doesn’t have too many ad deals in his hand right now, he agreed to slash his fees. He will apparently charge Rs 1.5 crore for this brand association,” added the source

But a source close to Saif has a different story to present and told the tabloid, “He is a known face and he keeps getting lot of offers for commercials, but he is picky about what he takes on. Often he chooses a brand depending on his availability.

Looks like this lovely couple is going down the charts for their lack of super-hit films!
