Shashi Kapoor is just not an actor or a film producer but a legacy. He is a member of the Kapoor family, a film dynasty in India that has ruled the roast for many years now. This film released in 1979, Kala Patthar was an action drama that was produced and directed by Yash Chopra. This duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor was a huge hit and they came together yet again for this film. An intense story woven by beautiful songs, this film was a huge hit.

namak halaal

Namak Halaal was a comedy directed starring Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Smita Patil, Parveen Babi in the lead role. This super hit film saw Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor collaberate yet again. They left the qaudience laugh till their stomach hurt in this film.


Deewar released in 1975 which is story of two impoverished brothers played by Shashi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. Intense drama, crazy action and one of the best films ever made in the history of Indian cinema, Shashi Kapoor also won the Filmfare award Best supporting actor for his role in this movie.

Jab Jab Phool Khile

Jab Jab Phool Khile was a block buster to say the least. The film was based on a was a love story between a boatman in Kashmir, played by Shashi Kapoor and a rich tourist played by Nanda. Shashi Kapoor said that Nanda was his favorite heroine, as she had signed with him when he was an unknown and she was a big star.


Starring Shashi Kapoor and Rakhi, Sharmeelee wasreleased in 1971. Shashi Kapoor played character of Captain Ajit Kapoor in the movie. Apart from the storyline it was the soundtrack of Sharmeelee that was an instant hit with the audience.
