A tribute to the legendary Shashi Kapoor

Some people never age. Legendary actor Shashi Kapoor stands testimony to this fact. Shashi Kapoor is one of the best stars Bollywood has ever seen.

To this man, films were a lifestyle. He gave his best in every film of his and lived life king style. Shahsi Kapoor belongs to the the greatest “Kapoor” khandaan in Bollywood. He is the father of Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor, Karan Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor. He is the widower of British actress Jennifer Kendal.

Shashi Kapoor’s real name is Balbir Raj Prithviraj Kapoor. He decided to change his name to Shashi because there were quite a few others with the same name as his in the acting field. He began his career as a child actor in the films Aag and Awaara.

He then began starring in films as the lead actor. In 1961, his first film Dharamputra released, establishing him as grown-up adult in the industry. Some of his notable films are Namak Halaal, Kabhi Kabhie, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewar, New Delhi Times etc.

He has been the recepient of several including big ones like Padma Bhushan, National Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shashi Kapoor, just like his brothers, has lived up to the name of the family. He leaves behind a rich legacy of a successful life and great filmy career.
