Whaaaa! Arjun Rampal has gone bankrupt, is it?

Yes peep, you read that right. Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has defaulted on payment of rent of a night club named LAP, that he owns in Delhi”s Samrat Hotel. This hotspot was opened in the year 2009 with a sitting capacity of 150 people and Rampal was leased out the space at an contractual rent of Rs.33 Lakhs per month.

The actor is unable to pay the whooping amount since the past one year, and presently, he owes Rs. 4.5Crores to the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)… “He had stopped payments since October 2012,” an ITDC official said.

Surprisingly, Rampal has moved the court seeking exemption from paying rent as his club wasn’t doing good business. The court however rejected his plea and has asked the actor to pay Rs. 1.5 Crores to ITDC immediately. He has been aked to pay the remaining Rs. 3 crores in a given time span.

Meanwhile, when Rampal was asked to comment on the same, he did not give a direct answer. He just said, “I seem to be hearing about my businesses from the press.” He then tweeted, “So I am Bankrupt now!!! According to media reports. So everyone cash out ur checks now…#ridiculous.”

Reports suggest that superstar Shahrukh Khan to was a shareholder in LAP. However, post Ra.One when things turned sour between the two, King Khan withdrew himself from the venture.
