Saif Ali Khan charged for assaulting South African National

Two years after assaulting a South African National in Mumbai, Saif Ali Khan has been charged under Section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC for assaulting Iqbal Sharma in 2012.

The hearing against the Nawab of Pataudi is scheduled to start from April 30th. Khan had reportedly broken Iqbal Sharma’s nose following a scuffle at the Wasabi restaurant in the Taj Hotel in Colaba

Sharma is a South African national of Indian origin and is the deputy director-general of Trade and Investment in South Africa. Reportedly, he had objected to the noise created by Saif and his friends at the hotel; following which Saif and his friends beat up Sharma.
