Juhi Chawla who seems to be in the speak-you-mind mode these days has been blurting out a lot of truths and opinions in front of the media and the latest she talked about was how she thought that Soumik Sen, the director of Gulaab Gang had gone insane when he approached her for the role of the vile politician in the movie. Later though, Juhi Chawla changed her mind about the role and thought that it would be an awesome role to play.
“The first time I heard the role I thought he (Soumik Sen) has gone insane. Gradually, I got convinced after he explained it further. I thought it would be wonderful if I could do it” was what an animated Juhi Chawla was found telling the media.
And for Soumik Sen too, it wasn’t easy to convince Juhi Chawla to play the role. Here’s what he talks about how he got her to agree to playing the villain of Gulaab Gang, “I had to sing to convince Juhi. I had cast Madhuri as the hero of the film as it was in my mind from before but while choosing a villain I thought it must be as big if not bigger. I was also trying to break the mould as Charlie Chaplin, Amol Palekar have done earlier and therefore Juhi was taken as the villain for the film.”
Gulaab Gang is all set to release this Friday, but only if everything goes well despite the case that has been filed against it.
