Alia Bhatt’s mom Soni Razdan is reportedly scripting a period love story set in 1940s, with Alia in mind to play the lead role. It’s a powerful and usual love story set in the India of the 40s,” she reveals.
“She’s (Alia) a perfect fit for this period romance,” Soni added and said she will direct the film herself. There were reports that the film was based on the infamous Nanavati murder case of 1959 where naval officer KM Nanavati was tried for the murder of Prem Ahuja, his wife’s lover.
When asked, Soni neither confirmed nor denied and said “All I can say is that it’s based on a true story and an exciting relationship.”
“It will definitely not happen this year. Maybe I’ll put it on floors towards the end of 2015,” she says; when asked when the film will go on floors.
Meanwhile, Alia -who was last seen in Highway– has been getting much appreciation for her performance in the film.
