Star Gold just spent 350 crores on satellite rights of some big movies!

Star Gold, one of the channels of the Star networks that airs only movies just made the biggest deal that it has ever made so far and spent nearly 350 crores in acquiring the satellite rights of 18 big movies that are yet to release.

Some of these big films which are a part of the deal include, Salman’s Jai Ho and Kick, Ranbir Kapoor’s Bombay Velvet and Roy, Hrithik and Kat’s Bang Bang, Action Jackson, Singham 2, Hamshakals and Vidya Balan’s Bobby Jasoos, Creature, Gang of Ghosts, Traffic, Sonali Cable, O Teri, Bhaag Johnny and Hawaa Hawaai and we’re assuming that they must’ve spent atleast 15 to 30 cores on each of these films.

Hemal Jhaveri, Star Gold’s executive Vice President speaks about the deal saying, “We have consistently received a phenomenal response for the big ticket premieres on our network. For 2014, we have targeted diverse content line up acquiring films across different genres. Our strategy has always been to simply offer our viewers’ content they want to watch, rather than what we want them to watch.

So looks like we’re going to be glued to Star Gold throughout the year with so many wonderful movies going to be aired on it!
