A talent underrated, a career kinda flop- Jimmy Shergill

So, here I am to talk about Jimmy Shergill. Jimmy Shergill is an actor, fyi!! He made his debut with the film Maachis in the year 1996 and every since he has acted in close to thirty films.

Jimmy Shergill hasn’t really made it big in Bollywood. Even after acting in so many films there hasn’t been a time when he ruled the industry. Forget ruling the industry, he was never even noticed and remembered.

His first and probably the only major rise to fame was with the film Mohabbatein. The film starred six newcomers alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. I’m calling Jimmy Shergill also a newcomer because though he was two films old by then, he still wasn’t a face to remember.

He went to act in films starring biggies of the industry. Films like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Hum Tum, Bas Ek Pal, A Wednesday!, My Name Is Khan etc had big names associated with it but poor Jimmy barely got a chance to show off his talent.

On a serious note, methinks Jimmy Shergill is very talented. Yes, he has made some stupid choices like Silsilay, Tom Dick and Harry, Dangerous Ishhq, one cannot ignore the good films he has been a part of.

Jimmy Shergill’s roles have mostly been off-beat and unusual. Take the example of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster where he plays the role of a nawab in all of his splendor. Also, Eklavya: The Royal Guard and Delhi Heights have been really good films.

Its kind of sad to see that someone like Jimmy Shergill is still struggling even after being an active part of this industry for over a decade. His talent is definitely underrated.

His next release Darr @ the Mall is soon releasing and this time, probably for first time, he will be seen in a full fledged horror film. We hope he hits jackpot at least with this one.
