The superb chemistry that Deepika Padukone shared with her Ram-leela co-star Ranveer Singh sparked numerous rumors of an ongoing romance between the two actors. But neither Deepika, nor Ranveer have come out in the open and commented anything about their relationship status.
“Chemistry was relevant to the film at that time. What was important for me and Ranveer is to have a good chemistry in a film like ‘Ram Leela’ which is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. (As) the film was a passionate love story, we needed that kind of chemistry and it worked for the film,” Deepika said at an event.
She said contrary to the perception, the on-screen chemistry cannot be created between two actors. “You cannot create chemistry. Also a director cannot direct chemistry as it is something that actors bring to their characters and to the film. It lies in the comfort level that they share. I believe they cannot create it,” the actress said.
Once the film is super-hit, one has seen top actors demanding profit share from the makers. Deepika too thinks of following this trend. “I think it depends on project to project. If it is fair for guys (actors) to get it (profit share) then why not girls. I will definitely think about it,” she said.
Deepika however chose to play safe when asked whether she would play the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in Soojit Sircar’s upcoming film. “It is too soon to say anything. I like to talk about the projects that I am doing. It is unfair to talk about films for which things are not finalised as it leads to unnecessary reporting. It gets messy. Officially, I am doing my next film with Imtiaz Ali which will have Ranbir Kapoor,” Deepika said.
Recently, actress Anushka Sharma publicly slammed reports that she had gone under the knife for a lip job. When asked about her opinion on the disastrous surgery of Anushka, “I am not anybody to comment on what other people should do and not. I personally don’t endorse it as it is not natural,” Deepika said.
