Sanjay Dutt, who is serving a 5 year prison sentence for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts and for illegal possession of arms, has a lot of films pending. He signed on the films before he was sentenced and ever since his incarceration started, all those films have been shelved.
While the actor had finished dubbing for Zanjeer and Policegiri before going to prison, dubbing for Peekay, Unglee and Sher is still pending.
Peekay, starring Aamir Khan, is scheduled for a release this year and the dubbing for Sanjay Dutt’s part has not been done yet.
Says a source from the production team, “The film was shot in the sync sound style but Sanjay did not wear the lapel microphone for voice recording. Hence, we are hoping that he finishes dubbing before he returns to jail.”
Right now, the actor is on parole. The director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra met the actor at his house and asked him to finish dubbing for the film before he goes back to prison.
Will Peekay end up being shelved too?
