Nikitin Dheer, the hulking actor who plays the antagonist in Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express, says he started communicating with his fans after SRK advised him and encouraged him to get onto the social networking websites.
He said “Thanks to my dad, I have always been a rooted and simple person as I have had a middle class upbringing. I don’t believe in saying anything controversial just to stay in news. Even communicating with my fans on networking sites started only after Shahrukh told me. I never had any accounts prior to his suggestion. When I am not shooting, I prefer hanging out with friends, workout etc. I prefer to keep myself engaged into different type of activities like marital arts, boxing as they keep one’s mind calm as well as make you a disciplined person.”
When asked about his choice of films, Nikitin says he is not choosy as he doesn’t want to limit himself. “Many keep asking me about why have I been careful about selecting films. I’m not limiting myself to big banner movies, I’m open to small projects as well, but, I prefer to explore new themes and what matters to me is that I should be excited about the character I play. Not only that, a good director matters to me because film-makers are the game changers for any movie. Although, many think that films are meant to rake in the BO moolah, I try to take up films which sound instinctively correct to me — rather than doing numerous illogical roles,” says the actor who made his debut in a negative role in the film Jodha Akbar.
