In what might come as a shock to many, Hrithik Roshan has left the much anticipated film Shuddhi.
“Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like Shuddhi to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience as an actor working with Karan Malhotra in Agneepath and I’m sure that my dear Karans, Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra, are going to go beyond with this one. Shuddhi remains a part of me in spirit and I am sure it will be a landmark film in our cinema. I wish them all the best,” said Hrithik Roshan.
Meanwhile, buzz is that the Ram Leela star Ranveer Singh will step in to play the lead role in Shuddhi. Kareena Kapoor was supposed to be the female lead but she also opted out because of various reasons. Now, a birdie tells us Ranveer’s alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone will play the female lead in the film.
While Ranveer didn’t comment on this, the actor who has been winning many accolades for his performance in Ram Leela, says he feels awards are questionable. “Sometimes I find awards questionable. At times I get surprised looking at the winners’ list… at times it glares out to me as well, but it’s all subjective. For me, awards means live performance and I love live performances,” said Ranveer.
He added, “It is very disappointing that the technical team of Lootera didn’t get their due credit. Lootera is technically one of the superior films of Hindi cinema. I would rate Lootera more than Ram-leela as Ram-leela was easier for me to do, while Lootera was tougher. I am proud of Lootera. It’s a timeless film. It’s sad that Lootera went unnoticed by many.”
