After Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan quits Karan Johar’s Shuddhi

Ever since Karan Johar’s ambitious project Shuddi, starring Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan came into being, a lot has been talked about it. Initially, Bebo was finalized as the film’s leading lady. But in a recent interview, Mrs Khan confessed that she was unsure about being a part of the film. And guess what? The latest we hear is Hrithik Roshan has opted out of the film.

Yes, you read that right. The film has been repeatedly postponed because of the actor’s deteriorating health. Hrithik has undergone several surgeries post his head injury, because of which Shuddi couldn’t go on floors. Fed up with this, the actor has decided to quit the project as he does not want the any further delay of the film.
“Karan Malhotra (director) and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post- Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like Shuddhi to stagnate any further,” said the talented actor in his statement.

Despite not being a part of it, Hrithik feels the film will be nothing less than a landmark in Hindi cinema. “Had the finest experience as an actor can have working with Karan Malhotra (in Agneepath), and I’m sure both my dear Karans are going to go beyond with this one! Shuddhi remains a part of me in spirit and am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema” read his statement.

Now that Kareena and Hrithik have backed off, what is the fate of Shuddi? A source says, “There is no question of shelving it. The project is very close to both the Karan’s heart.”
