Karan Johar is all set to team up with the film-maker Guneet Monga, who made the highly acclaimed film The Lunchbox; to produce the Hindi remake of the hit French comedy The Intouchables.
Karan’s team confirmed the news saying it is true and they are working on it.
Yohann Comte, deputy head of sales at Gaumont Film Company, that made the film The Intouchables, said: “From Gangs of Wasseypur to The Lunchbox, I’ve always believed that Guneet’s company was by far the most creative and trustworthy producer when it comes to delivering crowd-pleasing Indian films with a strong identity that can play well at festivals and beyond.”
Meanwhile, Karan Johar is elated at the response his film Hasee Toh Phasee has been getting at the Box Office since it’s release on Friday. So far, the film has managed to rake in Rs. 10 Crores.
“Thank you for the immense love and appreciation for Hasee Toh Phasee, a film I am extremely proud of,” Karan tweeted today.
Meanwhile, the lady-lead of the film, Parineeti Chopra also took to twitter to express her happiness. “Thank you for the amazing response guys! We sure are happy,” was Pari’s tweet.
