The gorgeous actress Rekha has been roped in by the makers of Aditya Roy Kapoor’s upcoming film Fitoor, to play the role of a crucial character in the film.
Fitoor is an adaptation of the classic novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and Aditya Roy Kapoor plays the role of the character based on the protagonist of the novel Pip. Rekha has been signed on to play the character based on the cold-hearted woman Miss Havisham, who is one of the central characters in the novel.
Reportedly, Sridevi was offered that role initially. However, the English Vinglish actress was apprehensive of playing the grey character who is a half-crazy, rich spinster. Also, the role required her to look much older than what she is; so she refused to do it. Her loss became Rekha’s gain.
The film had already undergone a major cast-change as Sushant Singh Rajput was supposed to play the role of pip but he couldn’t do it because of date clash with his other film Paani. Now, the role will be played by Aditya Roy Kapoor. The female lead in this Abhishek Kapoor’s direction is Katrina Kaif.
