When Bollywood’s history is written, Deepika Padukone will be counted as Bollywood’s first leading lady to have notched up as many as four back-to-back 100 crore hits in the same year. She is one versatile actress our film industry proudly owns. Time and again she has proved herself with her choice of diverse films, right from her first film. The year 2013 was indeed very successful for Deepika Padukone. She had a fairytale journey. Well, no wonder she’s been nominated in most categories at award functions this year.
Recently, IBN-CNN television network awarded her Indian of the year, special achievement award for delivering a slew of hits in 2013, including Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram-Leela. Winning the award was not as special to her as much as from whom she received it. Well, her father ace badminton player Prakash Padukone handed the award to his daughter and it was a moment of pride for the entire Padukone clan. Deepika Padukone got extremely emotional and just couldn’t hold back her tear. She admits to being an emotional fool and that it’s ok to cry.
A teary eyes Deepika said, it was over whelming to receive an award from her dad. She also credited all her success to her parents, thanking them for allowing her to live her dream. She had a special message to all the parents in the world. She urges them to let their kids follow their dreams.
Well, Deepy, you truly deserve all the awards this year, for all the hard work you put in to entertain us all.
