GIMA 2014: Asha Bhosle Awarded Music Living Legend

At the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) 2014, Asha Bhosle was honored with the Music Living Legend Award for enthralling the audiences for seven decades now. Bhosle, who is the most recorded artist with over 12000 songs, started her singing career in 1943. She paid a tribute to late husband and music maestro R D Burman at the awards.

Ranveer Singh, who hosted the awards, made sure everyone was entertained enough and made everyone laugh with his witty remarks. He later performed to the Ram Lakhan song along with Anil Kapoor on stage; proving he can host as good as he can act.

Meanwhile, there was a double treat for the makers of Aashiqui 2 because a song from the film Sun Raha Hai Na Tu won two awards- Best Debut Singer (male) and Best Singer (Female). Ankit Tiwari, who rendered the male version of the song was elated at winning the Best Debut Singer award. While for Shreya -who is a proven singer- this became a yet another feather in her cap.

Meanwhile, Hyacinth D’Souza won the best music arranger award for the song Badtameez Dil from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
