The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav on Monday presented a cheque worth Rs. 1 crore to the director and producers of the recently released film Bullett Raja, as the movie was extensively shot in Uttar Pradesh.
The director Tigmanshu Dhulia and producer Rahul Mita also thanked the Chief Minister for assisting the shooting of the film in Uttar Pradesh financially, an official said.
The makers of the movie accepted the cheque of Rs. 1 Crore given by the state government under its amended film policy of 2001.
The government of UP has decided to give away reliefs like tax rebates and financial assistance to the films which are based on Uttar Pradesh and which highlight the culture, tradition and lifestyle and shot extensively in the state.
Yadav said his government was committed to promoting films that bring tourism to the state and create job opportunities.
The Samajwadi Party government also announced a three-month tax holiday for Madhuri Dixit starrer ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, even this movie was shot in Uttar Pradesh.
