Touted as a ‘female centric film’, Vikas Bahl’s upcoming film Queen has managed to generate a lot of buzz so far. The trailer and the songs from the movie, which show Kangana Ranaut in a fresh avatar, are getting a lot of attention on the social media. The director Vikas however, says it is not a female centric film.
“It is the story of anyone. I have shown it of a girl but could have been of a boy. It is not woman oriented. I just feel girls are more interesting to watch than guys. Guys don’t know what to do. They will be like let’s go back and discuss some more girls,” laughs Vikas.
It was reported that he wrote the script with Kangana in mind. When asked about it, “I knew Kangana is not Rani (character’s name) but I knew she is very familiar and has grown up with such girls. Kangana is a good observant and very intelligent. So I knew she could get a lot to the character which even I as a guy can’t write. That’s the reason why I wanted to work only with Kangana. That is the best decision I have taken. I hope QUEEN does for Kangana what DEEWAR did for Amitabh Bachchan,” is Vikas’ reply.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, Queen releases on February 28, 2014.
