Salman Khan, who will be next seen in the much awaited film Jai Ho, has proved once again that he has a heart of gold. The movie is scheduled to release on 26th and the makers want to promote it with a bang; with a budget of Rs 16 crores.
Now, Sallu Bhai didn’t want to spend so much on promotions. Instead, he asked the makers to spend 6 crores on promotions and donate the rest to charity. “The amount allocated was Rs 16 crore, but Salman told Sunil Lulla (the head honcho of the production house) that the upper limit for promotions should be no more than Rs 6 crore. He wants the rest of the money to be distributed among the poor and needy while on city tours,” a source said.
Also, Salman Khan didn’t want the ticket prices to be sky high; like the films that released in the recent times. Numbers are important but don’t take the film out of the common man’s reach,” said the actor to a leading daily.
Meanwhile, the actor-producer is making a film which is a hindi remake of the Marathi film ‘Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho‘. Reportedly he approached Govinda to play the lead role in the film but Govinda turned down the offer.
“I approached Govinda but he refused it, seriously. For the last three years I have been after Govinda to do the film but he said that he didn’t like the film,” said Salman, who will do a cameo role in the film.
