Dedh Ishqiya stars speak: Arshad Warsi, Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi

Abhishek Chaubey’s Dedh Ishqiya is the sequel to the hit 2010 dark comedy Ishqiya. The movie stars Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles. Let’s see what the Dedh Ishqiya stars speak.

Arshad Warsi recently turned down an offer from the film-maker Mira Nair because he doesn’t know how to audition for a role.

“I have never given an audition for a role in my career so far. I don’t know how to do it. If somebody asks me to give audition I get completely flustered. Like Mira Nair, I love her, she is a lovely person, she called me twice, and told me to give audition. I told her I can’t give it and that she can show some of my movies to the concerned person,” said Arshad. He also added that 2014 is his scariest new year as two of his films are scheduled to release back to back; with one (Mr. Joe B Carvalho) being released last week and one (Dedh Ishqiya) this week. He has just started shooting for his next film The Legend of Michael Mishra/

Meanwhile, his co-star Madhuri Dixit who replaced Vidya Balan in the movie, is all praises for Vidya and she said “Vidya is wonderful. She is a lovely actress and I not only liked her in Ishqiya, I also liked her in her first movie Parineeta. I was the first one who talked about her in an interview, saying she is a good actress. I loved her in Dirty Picture and Kahaani. She is very talented.”

While this on one side, the other actress from the movie Huma Qureshi recently came under criticism because she made fun of a senior reporter who stammered while talking to her at a promotional event. Commenting on it, she says “I don’t know where it all came from… It was a joke and may be someone just wrote something. I am pretty media friendly. I get scolded also for being media friendly.”

We hope the movie turns out to be as juicy as the gossip surrounding it…
