Rizwan Manji, the Indo-Canadian actor who made a really big name for himself in the hollywood with all the popular TV shows like 24, Glee and Outsourced and movies like Morning Glory and Tranformers has now bagged a role in Leonardo Dicaprio’s upcoming film, ‘Wolf of the wall street’. Talking about that, Rizwan Manji also opens up about what hollywood has to offer the Indian based actors.
Here is what he has got to say about Indians bagging roles in hollywood, “The market is definitely opening up and the parts are getting better as well. It is moving in the right direction though there are still lot of stereotypes. I remember when we did ‘American Desi’, the market was completely unexplored and the film surprised everyone by doing good business.”
But then it wasn’t all easy for Rizwan Manji and he did have to go through some difficulties in the beginning. “In the beginning it was a struggle to get an audition for parts but 2013 was the busiest year I had. It was not just me, my actor friends in the Indian community here were all working. I hope it continues” was what he said on that.
Wolf of wall street is all set to get released in India tomorrow and Rizwan Manji plays the role of Khalil, a stock broker in it.
And this is what he says, talking about his role in the film and acting next to Leonardo Dicaprio, “I play the role of a stockbroker in Leonardo’s firm. As they start making big money, they open a larger firm and as the money starts rolling in a lot of crazy things begin to happen.I have some scenes with Leonardo. There was one scene where it is just me and him but I am not sure whether it ended up in the movie or not. Most of my scenes are with Jonah Hill.”
