Suchitra Sen, the yester-year actress who played iconic roles in movies like Devdas, Aandhi, etc has now been hospitalised after she complained of difficulty in breathing. Doctors at Belle Vue Clinic said that the 82 year old actress has a respiratory tract infection.
The clinic has formed a five-member-committee led by cardiologist Dr Subrata Moitra to take care of the star round the clock. Sen is now on respirators and is also being administered antibiotics.
Suchitra Sen played the role of Chandramukhi in the movie Devdas starring Dilip Kumar. She became the first Indian actor to be awarded at an international film festival when she was awarded the best actress award at the Moscow Film Festival in 1963.
