Bollywood’s veteran actor and the man of great values, Farooq Sheikh died of heart attack in Dubai on Saturday morning. The actor’s body will be brought back to Mumbai today for a funeral after properly completing all the formalities in Dubai.
The entire industry mourned the death of veteran actor Farooq Sheikh. Many Bollywood actors and directors took up twitter to express their shock over the sudden demise of Farooq.
Sheikh who is best known for his contribution to parallel cinema in the 1970s and 1980s, had been a part of several notable films such as Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Chashme Buddoor, Kissi Se Na Kehna and Noorie.
He started his career in Bollywood way back in 1973 with ‘Garm Hava’, and his last two appearence in Bollywood were in the form of ‘Club 60’ and in the commercially hit film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ where he played the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s father.
He was also the host of the famous talk show ‘Jeena Isi ka naam hai’ on television in which he interviewed many Bollywood celebrities.
