Though Bollywood blockbuster and Rohit Shetty’s highest grosser till date, Chennai Express bagged mixed reviews with some critics even calling the action-comedy movie starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles – over hyped venture of the year and bakwass, but there is no excaping the fact that the movie went on to set the box office on fire! SRK’s fans flocked to the nearest theatre to watch the Rohit Shetty’s masala entertainer and that helped the production garnered unbelievable moolah.
And now, the blockbuster movie has managed to book a spot in Google Zeitgeist’s list. To be precise, Chennai Express is the only movie ti represent India or Hindi film industry in that coveted list of the top trends of 2013. Shockingly, Chennai Express has been placed at the 7th position, ahead of internationally acclaimed productions like Les Meserables, The Conjuring and Argo.
Chennai Express was showcased in over 3,500 screens across India and 700 screens abroad including unconventional international markets like Peru and Israel.
