Review: So the very grand Mahabharat 3D that everyone’s been talking about so much finally hit the screens. Will the movie be remembered forever as one of the best Mahabharath movies made? We must say that probably not…
Every bit of the storyline of Mahabharath 3D sticks to the original storyline of the epic, revolving around the war between the Pandavas and Kauravas to win over Hastinapur, which starts off with a game of chess and Draupadi getting insulted by Duryodhana. The war ends with the Pandavas winning over the Kauravas with help from Lord Krishna.
The is definitely a great attempt by Amaan Khan to remake the legendary and unforgettable epic that was made only half a century ago by Babubhai Mistry, and although it does manage to entertain its viewers in many ways, it does not live up to all the expectations and could’ve been a lot better in many areas.
What was good: The storyline, that most of us are familiar with is the greatest asset for the movie with all its twists and turns and the delicate portrayal of all the good and bad of the human nature. The fact that all those bollywood stars were roped in as the voices of the characters is definitely a plus along with how they made the faces of the animated characters look like the stars who lent voices for them. (although the bodies of the animated stars are lot different and a lot muscly than that of the original stars).
What was bad: Poor animation is the biggest drawback for the film with the animation failing to live up to the standards of hollywood movies and some times gets so bad that there was no lip sync between the characters and their voices.
Overall, the movie can be watched once, to brush up your mythology and also for the fact that so much effort was put into making it.
