Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, which was the most awaited film of 2013, has broken all records set by record-setting movies like Chennai Express and Krrish 3 and became the fastest film to gross almost Rs 200 crores; by grossing Rs. 195.98 crores in the first week.
The Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif starrer created a new record by becoming the largest domestic release; having released in 4500 screens in India. It also saw a record number of advance ticket booking during the first weekend and it opened to a tremendous weekend. At the Indian Box Office, the film grossed Rs 107 crores in the first weekend; becoming the fastest film to gross more than Rs 100 crores and in the week, the collections dropped and it grossed Rs 88.9 crores in the weekdays.
The weekly break-up is Rs 36.22 cr on Fri, Rs 33.36 cr on Sat, Rs 38.03 cr on Sun, Rs 21.71 cr on Mon, Rs 20.14 cr on Tue, Rs 25.52 cr on Wed and Rs 21 cr on Thu; making it the fifth highest grosser of all time and third highest grosser of 2013.
