Unforgettable songs of Dilip Kumar

Dilip Kumar was one of THE most talented actors of his time.

If he was to appear in a movie now, I’m sure the movie would cross 100 crore in its first week. No, this isn’t my love for Dilip Kumar talking all this or rather singing praises. It’s very simple.

He was one hell of an actor. He could be anything he wanted and could pull it off with so much ease and panache! Like he could be the homeless guy or the hardworking farmer or the rich-debonair business man or even the idealist and still rock at it. He was such a natural, he put life into his character and I guess that’s what made his so special and good.

Lets take a look at the best songs of Dilip Kumar

Caution: You might get nostalgic and might keep singing the songs for days!

Ude jab jab zulfein teri

What an amazing song! Such a natural feel this song has. I mean, I can totally imagine this song happening in real life. There is not a single pretentious thing about this song. Dilip Kumar and Vaijantimala created magic on screen with their impeccable acting and Mohammad Rafi and Asha Bhosle created magic off screen with their amazing voices. A must have in your ipod!

Maang k saath tumhara

Another brilliant song by Mohammad Rafi and Asha Bhosle. Just concentrate on the lyrics and the background score. The sound of them traveling by taanga, its so prominent and makes the song all the more interesting! Dil kahe, dildar mila.. Hum kahe, hume pyaar mila.. Haan ji haan!

jab pyaar kiya toh darna kya

I accept that the entire credit for making this song so magical and unforgettable goes to Madhubala. Her expressions, her dance moves, the way her eyes tell everything is just so damn good but you can understand the irony of the only if you watch the pain in Dilip Kumar’s eyes. What an excellent performance by both of them!

choti si umar mai

Only Dilip Kumar could pull of the difficult task of being a blind man, wearing a dhoti and romancing a hottie, all in one movie. Rather one song! ANother exceptional performance by Dilip Sahab and a brilliant song!

madhuban mai radhika naache

Ah, this song is classic. Like I said, Dilip Kumar was among those actors who could pull off any role with ease and be so natural at it. This song is an example!

mujhe duniya walon

This one has to be my personal favorite! If it was in my power, this song would still be ranking in top 10 chartbusters. How can we forget such an amazing song? The irony behind it? Mai peeta nahi hoon, pilayi gayi hai! Kya baat hai!!!
