The legendary Dilip Kumar began his career as an actor in the year 1944 with the film Jwar Bhata. The star’s real name is Muhammad Yusuf Khan and adapted the name Dilip Khan once he entered the industry.
Dilip Kumar’s first film wasn’t a great hit. However, three years later in 1947 his first ‘hit’ film released. It starred the beautiful Noor Jahan and was titled Jugnu. From then on the actor began delivering hits after hits.
Dilip Kumar has acted in over 60 films in a span of close to 60 years. His best remembered films include Andaz, opposite Nargis and Raj Kapoor and Devdas.
His best film so far has been the historical epic film Mughal-e-Azam.
As far as his personal life is considered, Dilip Kumar had mostly found himself in controversies. His love life with Madhubala was a much talked about affair. The duo separated due to family issues and the former went on to marry the gorgeous Saira Bano.
