The hatke film-maker Vishal Bharadwaj, is known for making films with alternative themes. 7 Khoon Maaf; Kaminey; The Blue Umbrella, etc is now making a film based on the Shakespearean play Hamlet. The film-maker is known for making movie adaptations of popular books by Ruskin Bond and now, Ruskin Bond himself is Vishal Bharadwaj’s new neighbor.
Reportedly, Vishal bought a house in Mussoorie; in the locality where Ruskin Bond lives. This was revealed by Ruskin in a recent conversation with a leading daily.
“He bought the house last year, I think. Whenever he is in town between his shoots, he drops in occasionally to discuss stories and books. He hasn’t been around for a while; I think he is busy with his adaptation of Hamlet, a subject I have no expertise in,” was what Bond said.
7 Khoon Maaf and Kaminey are based on Bond’s stories and the author also said that another novel of his, Mr Oliver’s Diary, is being made into a film by Bharadwaj.
