The highly acclaimed film The Good Road became India’s official entry in the foreign language film category at the 86th Academy Awards and now, there is another feather in its cap; with the movie being screened at Harvard University’s Cambridge campus in Massachusetts, United States of America. The Gujarati language film has been produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and was screened on Monday at Harvard University’s South Asia Institute (SAI).
The film’s director, Gyan Correa, was also present at the screening which was a part of an academic event held for the Harvard faculty, students and affiliates who are film aficionados. The director later interacted with the audience at the screening. Vikram Khanna — a professor at the Harvard Law School currently teaching a course on the Indian entertainment industry — started the event by giving an introduction of the film; which was followed by the screening.
Actor Sonali Kulkarni, who plays the mother in The Good Road said, “This is another feather in the cap. This film is proving to be a genuine entertainer all over the world, which proves its merit. I wish I could attend the screening but my best wishes are with director Gyan Correa.”
