The diva Madhuri Dixit is making a comeback with the film Dedh Ishqiya. Having returned to Mumbai after a long stint in the United States, post marriage, has her life changed? Let’s see…
She says that during their early days in Mumbai, her sons, Arin and Raayan, were very surprised when their school mates went gaga over their mother. “They’d come home saying, ‘But you’re still our mom, na?’ And I’d assure them that I was. Earlier, it would give them a kick to see me on ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa’, now they are immune to my on-screen charms,” she laughs.
On the transition from Denver to Mumbai, she says she loves Mumbai’s energy; which contrasts Denver.
“I love the city’s energy and social life, but I miss Denver with its open spaces. There is a park in every corner, I could run uninhibitedly with the kids without worrying about prying eyes. I could visit toy shops and go shopping for groceries,” she says.
When asked if she missed acting and missed being in front of the camera, she says she didn’t have time for that. “The only movie I wish I could have done was Erin Brockovich. I’m surprised no one has thought of remaking the movie here,” says the dhak-dhak girl.
