The diva, Mdhuri Dixit-Nene is making a comeback after a long gap of 6 years, with the movie Dedh Ishqiya. Her previous comeback movie Aaja Nachle was a disaster at the box-office, so she has all hopes pinned on this movie.
Talking about it, she says “As a film, as a product I would say the film is very entertaining. There is not even a single point in the film where the rhythm is missing…very tightly woven characters. I enjoyed a lot shooting for the film and I hope audience also enjoy watching the film as much as I did while shooting,” said the 46 year old actress.
Dedh Ishqiya is a dark comedy, which is a sequel to the hit film Ishqiya. Ishqiya starred Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles and the sequel will star Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.
Commenting on her character Begum Para, Madhuri says “The best thing I liked about the role is that Begum Para is a multilayered character, What kind of woman Begum Para is, is actually revealed at the end in the film.” Draw comparisions between Chandramukhi (the role she played in Devdas) to Begum Para and she asserts that there’s nothing in common between the manipulatice Begum Para and lovable nautch girl Chandramukhi. “Chandramukhi was a saint, Begum is anything but one,” she adds.
