Tigmanshu Dhulia, the director of action-thriller ‘Bullett Raja’ didn’t opt for the convenience of a set and opted for real locations instead.
Locations like Lucknow’s historic Kakori railway station and Hazratganj, the Chambal region, the opium fields of Uttar Pradesh, the streets of Kolkata and Panchvati (Nashik) were used to shoot the movie.
He says, “Locations are crucial characters in my film.”
The lead actor of the movie, Saif Ali Khan too agrees that shooting live action in between the hustle and bustle of a city helped him essay the character with more conviction. He explains, “There is a certain raw energy when you shoot in real locations. To get the flavour of script right, it was important for us to be out there. I had never seen this side of the country and it was sheer delight doing action scenes — chases and stunts — in actual locations, including a construction site.”
The film is about Raja Mishra (Saif)who is a UP gangster.. He exposes the nexus between politicians, industrialists and the police in the state. It also features Sonakshi Sinha who plays a struggling actress and Saif’s love interest.
