It was only a matter of time when the fire around Ram Leela died and gave way to fire around Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone alleged relationship or friendship or just colleague-ship. If you’ve watched the movie, you can pretty much assume that they are already in love.
But when you watch Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, you will again assume that Deepika and Ranbir Kapoor are still madly in love. What? Yes! That’s what you’ll start assuming. Because all three of them, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are brilliant actors! So unless either of them come clean about their alleged relationship, I think it would be very nice if we can keep our mouths shut.
But what can we say? The media just doesn’t know when to stop and keeps asking baseless questions about their relationship at every chance that they get. I mean, seriously! Let the breathe and let them celebrate the victory of such a brilliant movie! In one such interview, Ranveer Singh didn;t exactly lose his cool but gave it to the reporter.
A few days back Ranveer Singh couldn’t stop gushing about how he loved the song Sun Raha Hai Na Tu from Aashiqui 2 and how he felt like a damned Aashiq. So arises the obvious double loaded question. Is the song still in your mind and are you still a aashiq? By this time, Ranveer had had enough and here comes the time for some straight blunt replies! He says, “No, right now its Nagada sang dhol from ‘Ram Leela’ which is playing everywhere with requests for an encore. But yes, I am an aashiq who will even put his life on the line. I’ve done some really crazy things when in love. But sorry no details.” Hah! Some one is happy!
Again a double loaded question about Ranveer Singh’s intense acting. He was apparently so into the character that he was lost while shooting. Now, the interviewer picked one particular scene where Ranveer got lost. It was the crazy lip-lock scene. What was Ranveer’s response? “I get lost in the moment most of the time—whether it’s a song, a dramatic moment or a burst of anger. In fact, when I’m supposed to be in a state of pure rage, my blood pressure shot up, and it seemed like I was going to explode from within. And when it’s an emotional scene, the hangover continues for a day or two. I’m an actor who reacts straight from the heart and since I was working with a director like Mr Bhansali who demands a lot from his actors, it was even more intense.” Nice!
By this time, the interviewer had enough and decided that it was time for some direct question! He asked Ranveer Singh if he was in a relationship with Deepika Padukone! GOD! What was Ranveer Singh’s response? “People are trying to probe into aspects of my life that I’d like to keep private. I don’t come from a film background so being a public figure was new to me and I treated press interviews like friendly conversations. But now I’ve learnt to be more judicious. A line has to be drawn and people should respect it. All this speculation is getting a bit too much. I’m here to act and it’s depressing that my personal life is taking precedence over my work.” We never knew Ranveer Singh was so insightful.
The last question was probably the lamest of all and Ranveer Singh, being the witty guy that he is, responded in the most wittiest way. He was asked if he would still hang out with Deepika. What? How is that even relevant? But never mind. Here comes the awesome reply, “Once I start ‘Kill Dil’ I will be hanging out with that unit. Director Shaadi Ali is like an older brother, he’s been my friend since I was 16 and I assisted him for a year. It’ll also give Parineeti Chopra and me a chance to explore each other as co-stars. She had only a bit role in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, but now she and me are the leads. It’ll also give me a chance to work with my childhood idol Govinda who is the reason I wanted to become an actor. Then there’s Zoya Akhtar’s film with Anushka in which Priyanka (Chopra) is playing my sister.”
So once Kill Dil releases, we can all be ready to hear Parineeti and Ranveer’s alleged relationship/extra-good-friends/just friend rumors. Hmph!
